Which is best for a beginner? YFZ? Z400? KFX400?

OK Yamaha people, I need some convincing. I am new to ATVs (I've ridden once) and am looking to buy one. I have been sold on the idea of the YFZ450 since I first started researching them. I am 5'6" 190lbs, 30 years old. I am good with vehicles across the board, so I know I COULD handle the power. But I want to get something that I could use anytime, everywhere, and would be best for me to learn on. I want to go all over the place riding. Trails, dunes, etc. I want to find the best overall quad for different types of riding. After a couple of years, I will know which type of riding I will like best and go from there. So, should I go with the YFZ (but I think it is a waste if I'm not racing yet), is it fun at all in the trails and other than racing areas? I have been readiing the forums day and night. I see that alot of people say the Z400 or the KFX400 are the best all around quad. I think the Raptor 660 falls into that category of "too much for a beginner". So is the Raptor 350 anywhere near as good as the Z400? Also if anyone has the Z400 and the KFX400, please let me know what you think is better all around. Thanks

well the yfz is not a learners quad by any means, but it will go any where you ask to go with authority. the z and kfx are also good quads(MUCH CHEAPER$). the raptor 350 is a learners quad, but you will want more power after about a month of riding it. my suggestion is, if you want to learn and you have the money, buy a used 400 ex and when your expierenced on it after a year of riding sell it and buy the yfz 450. but if you are going to buy one or the other you can not go wrong with the yfz.

uhh, guys. he said he could ride already.... my suggestion to u is to not waste money on a raptor 350, or a 400ex...
the z and KFX are more of an all around quad... with reverse and a soft suspention they are GREAT for trails, as well as on the track when it comes time to it.
dont get me wrong, i love my YFZ for the trails, i like to ride fast! and it handles great!
but the z does give a softer ride. and is more of a trail machine then the YFZ

I'm 5'6" 190. Does anyone have experience with both the Z400 AND the KFX400?? I've ridden a 250EX at the dunes and at the end of the ride I was wanting more get up and go. Does the 350 Raptor have that much more torque? So far I'm leaning towards the Z.

well the z/kfx are the same quad . could not tell if you knew that .go with the z/kfx is a great alround quad, plus easy to get more power if need later on by modding it.

I saw that somewhere. So they are the exact same? No advantage on oneover the other?
