350 Foreman 4x4 ES with 26" tires - to much?
#3
Hello and welcome.
Tire size is all about preference. I had 26" tires on my old 300 4X4 and I loved them. Some will say that you will loose too much power putting 26" on a 350. You will loose some power but you need to ask yourself where you want to compromise. You will gain ground clearance and traction in mud with 26" but you will loose more power than if you went with 25". I personally don't care as much about top speed and the 26" were fine for my style of riding (slower more technical trails with DEEP mud). I now have an 05 Rubicon with 26" and will be going to 27" as soon as the 26" wear out. The only reason that I went with 26" on the Rubi was that I got a smokin deal on them. I think that 26" on your 350 will be fine but you will loose a little power and top speed.
Good luck!

Speed is not a concern for me - I just want to be sure that when I try to climb a hill with this thing it does not 'bog' out on me.....I am also concerned about the extra wear/strain it will put on my drivetrain. I asked teh dealer if it would void my warranty and they assure me it will not - however 5 years from now I do not want this thing wore out becuase of the tires I put on it.

You don't really have to worry about climbing with a Honda. Most Hondas have such a low 1st gear that you can turn any tire on any hill. The only draw back is that Hondas 1st gear is so low that you will be moving very slow.
As far as the drivetrain goes, I had 26" on my old 300 for about 5 years and I never had a problem.
I hope this makes sense!
