If I were you Ied get ITP 589's or maby mudlights, It doesnt matter how tall a tire is as long is the other two number match up , like you could have a 25x10x12 and a 27x10x12 would fit on the same rim , hope this helps , TBGUY250

This is what I plan to put on my Sportsman when the RawHides wear out. Will stay 25-8-12 and 25-10-12.....>>EXECUTIONERS<<<

For mostly dirt I wouldn't get a mud tire. If you like a soft ride get a radial tire. The ITP mudlite XTR would be perfect. The tread design is perfect for all around use. It's made my the same company that makes the stock tire for 2005 sportsman's. ITP owns carlisle from what I understand.

Also, the taller the tire the more power loss.....in essense you run he higher gear ratio with taller tires.
I'm looking at the ITP Holeshot ATR radial for all around use or the ITP Wetlands radial which has a more mud oriented tread. Like another poster mentioned, the new ITP Mudlite XTR is nice........although it's a bit pricy. The Wetlands is the same tire that comes OEM on the 2005 Sportsmans except it says "Polaris PXT" on the side.

Yes, Wetlands. Get them.
I tried the IPT ATR. I didn't like them at all. No traction. I don't think they are good for the sp.

Wilson,
I went with the stock sizes when I replaced my stock tires with Maxxis Mud Bugs. I love them. The tread depth is like 1 1/4 inches deep. Most tires I looked at went with a reduced tread depth when you stayed with the 25" tires. I rarley even put mine in 4 wheel drive anymore. I think I paid $280.00 for the set delivered.
It is a very rugged tire, I have not had a puncture yet.
Good Luck,
Mike
