Default Lots of Questions!

First off I'd like to Thank you for visiting this thread. Secondly I have a whole lot of questions that probably a lot of you can answer

1) What is a good swingarm guard. Preferrably metal and strong enough to take some moderate to hard bangs. Also, I want it not to be to heavy.

2) A grab bar thats flag holder is flat. Our YFZ has a bent holder and the flag keeps hitting our heads.

3) What bar bend is comfortable for riding dunes/trails... Currently we have a low bend and I myself dislike it very much.

4) When the YFZ revs past half throttle the handlebars start vibrating really bad and in combonation with rough terrian it makes for a very uncomforable ride. Will a steering stabilizer fix that or is it unfixxable. If a steering stabilizer can, which brand(s) are good?

5) Is a full engine skid plate necessary or will stock plastic suffice?

6) Unfortunatly we have bent our steering stem (near the handlebar clamp) while still rideable it is very annoying having to turn a direction the whole time. Would it be cheaper to fix and bend back (we do not have the tools to do it i don't think) or buy a LSR or Houser Anti vibe?

Thanks alot!

Default Lots of Questions!

I can awnser a couple of these and maybe someone else will help you with the rest. Skidplate- I used yamahas and was a little annoyed that I had to take my drill and hog out 2 holes, but I have to say it is a pretty strong peice. I am constantly bottoming out on rocks and it has worn well. Steering stem - I hit a fallen tree in some deep grass and made a mess of things including the steering stem I took it to a machine shop and the told me they could'nt just straighten it and would have to weld a new pipe on there, they could'nt do that work for less than the price of a new steering stem. Depending on the riding your doing I would probably only get the swingarm skid plate. If you ride pretty hairy stuff get er all. Your yfz vibration - I have no idea, and I don't have a flag. Hope this helps.

Default Lots of Questions!

For me, Pro-Tect stainless was the only way to go. I got one for the Raptor after destroying a 1/4" aluminum in a few months. Same with the aluminum ones on the 400exs. Finally got a Pro-Tect stainless for the Raptor and didn't do any damage for a year. Ended up buying 3 more of the 400exs and been running them for 2 years.

Burgard for the anti-vibe steering stem.
