ok, so im looking at getting a dirtbike next year. im a pretty good DB rider, ive had 2 of them previously and i ride a 4 stroke 250 now. but im thinking about getting a honda CR250. how much harder are 2strokes to start over 4 strokes? i know this is off topic here, wrong forum, and wrong bike, but you guys are good guys and i think you can help me.

see on a 2 stroke the piston goes up and down two times for a complete power cycle and on a four stroke it goes up and down four times for one complete power cycle. so if your kick starting a 4 cycle you have to turn the engine over four times to get it start on the first kick on a two stroke you only have to turn it over twice. I assumed you were meaning how hard you would have to kick it. If you mean cold weather starting and so forth they are pretty much the same as long as they are tuned properly. either way you go a 2006 honda is gonna start with a kick or 2 regardless of which engine you choose. I love Honda dirtbikes

just for the record...a 2 stroke does 2 strokes for a power cycle..one down and one up and a four stroke does 4 ...1 up for exhaust,1 down for air mixture, 1 up for compression and another one down after spark then it restart(sorry i understood the above post as the 2 stroke does 4 stroke and the 4 stroke does 8)
