400 test run

Default 400 test run

well we went camping this weekend got to try the 400 and still not hitting 7000rpm it hits 6500 almost right away? setup is this right now comp 125 psi ,ported,reeds,39pwk with 160 main,35 pilot, needle in middle, rcr mid pipe 12 tooth front sprocket ,new belt. elev was@ 5000ft.then an old guy flipped his boat andwas sitting in the water for 1/2HR before we found him barely holding on to his boat damm lucky we got to him in time

update i heard the doctors said if he was in the water 5 mins more he would be dead.the old guy was lucky we decided to fish or we would of been long gone

main jet too lean,start at 165 at least then retest,clutch setup must be
accordly matched to the pipe and porting as well.

i had the 170 to start then dropped to 165 main and the power was not there i ran 162 most of last year last ride was 5000ft it seem to be okay on the bottom and mid just would not rev to 7000rpm

i forgot about the clutch hpd red/yellow s55 weights stock secondary spring i think i am in the second tightest hole position now

with the mid pipe it just might not want to go to 7000. If you are trying to get your shift rpm to 7000 then you need lighter weights. I wasn't sure if you were trying to hit 7k at full shiftout or if you were looking at 7000 for a shift rpm.

I believe that Rick had told me that the mid pipe was only supposed to go to around 6500-6600 for max power. It sounds like your right on. His top end pipe would be closer to what your looking for, or HPD's trail pipe would get to to around 6800-6900. As long as when the bike jumps to 6500 that it launches good and holds that RPM as it accelerates then your right on the money. Sounds like you could use a little more compression to help out. thanx bubba i was thinking of bumping it up some to around 140-145psi i still want to try and run 92 octane if i can or 94 octane max dont want to have to run race gas as it is a pain to get for me
