This guy i work with saw my new 2005 rancher ES. He claims that he has a machine at home that says Rancher on the side, but the engine is a 450. I told I dont think they made any 450 ranchers, but he insists that what it is. any info??

Its either a rancher 400 AT, a Forman 450 S or ES, or a 350 Rancher that somone put 450 stickers on, or a 450 forman that somone put rancher stickers on!!!

 

The funny thing is that there really are people who would put a 450 sticker on a Rancher and try to fool someone.

Like "LittleBill" and "action450s" have said, there is no such thing as a Rancher 450.

It is possible Honda badged a machine differently for a different market. The 300 was a "Big Red" in the UK until about 1996 and they didn't use the Recon name here at all, as recon is short for reconditioned in the UK. However I would guess someone really has stuck the wrong badges on your machines, not always an attempt to deceive, we had a Honda 90 in a while back with Kawasaki badges, presumably the previous owners dad had a Kawasaki and son wanted his machine to look more like his father's. Question, how do you know they were 450s? I've seen loads of bikes for sale on eBay with capacities wrongly quoted.
