getting blaster up to speed
#1
What all do i need to get my blaster equally as fast as a 450r, or is it even possible. I also have one more question, can i send my motor back to hwd for a 240 once i get bored with my porting. Will it be cheaper since i already have the porting done.

ok first it depends on how you mean as fast... do you mean accel... top end or all the way around... all the way around would be near impossible without spending thousands... second... yes if you get porting done you can send it back and mark will resleeve it to be a 240. im not sure as far as pricing though. as of now he isnt taking anymore orders because he is really bcked up... my compression was really high so i sent him my prop head to swap for a lower compression prop head in the beg. of may and its not here yet... but i got one off ebay so i can still ride. all in all... without doing the most extensive porting to a 240 and having your bottom end also completly redone your not gonna have as much power as a 450r but you can get pretty close cuz i am to my friends R

How do you like your hwd dirt motor i am going to order my porting on monday if hes not backed up anymore. Was it a big difference over stock and what octane do you run. I was thinking about getting it set up for race gas and then using pump gas with octane booster but i dont know if you can.

The little blaster can be made into a beast..It's main problem though is that it dosn't have a igniton curve..As far as beating a 450R it can be done but it would take more money then most want to put in a blaster..However 40hp is very easily reached with most of the builder's out there, And 40hp on a 300lb bike is going to run with most of them..Also don't worry about marc, I talked to him this morning and he said he has about 3 week's until he is completely caught up with work..So soon2b it won't be to much longer i'm sure till you have your stuff..I'm going to tell you a little story real quick..I ordered my pd2 from him about 3 months ago. He was swamped with work but i told him i didn't care to wait becuase i wasn't in a big hurry, about 2 week's after i send him my motor his help quit's on him to persue a job paying much more money..So that left marc awnsering phone's, doing the paperwork, and motorwork all by his lonesome :-)..So about 2 week's ago i get a email from him saying..Hey man i made you a pd3 instead of the pd2..I am pretty sure he did this becuase he felt bad about me having to wait longer than expected..I mean a pd3 is 4 more hour's of labor that has to be put into the cylinder and at $25 a hour. he had to have made next to nothing or lost money on my stuff..So just so you know he hasn't forgot about you, he is working 18hour day's trying to get caught up again..
2strokescreamer if i was you i would email him rather than calling..He has basically vowed not to take any new work until he get's everybody's stuff out to him..Email him and he will be able to give you all the information you will need as far as turn around time and pricing info..
