Rear end is to low to the ground. Geared to high.
My buddy changed the gearing and put 25's on his. Now it will go through the ruts.
Oh yeh the plastic skid plate is trash! He busted his on a rock the first day. It bent the sprocket and he dented a rotor. He bought a real steel skid plate for it and it fixed it.

Great article about oil. Everything about the CRF dirt bikes, also goes for your 450R. http://www.thumperfaq.com/oil.htm
This is a high revving engine that will be hard on its oil, plus there is relatively little oil in the engine to begin with. Pick a high quality oil, and change it often. My personal choice is Maxima Extra or Ultra, ester synthetic. http://www.maximausa.com/
Along with CRF owners, you are one of the lucky few who has an engine where the transmission and motor oil are seperate (thank you Honda!). No sense using some wimpy engine oil in your transmission (like everybody else is forced to do), when you can use real transmission lube, just like in a 2-stroke trans. My pick here is Maxima MTL.

I htink he dropped about 5 teeth. I'm not sure. Any way the bike is fast in the woods and wheelies and pulls hills well with those 25's.
It was a good thing to do because where we ride there is nowhere to get over 55 for more than 10 seconds anyway.
