Default who installed clutch kit + mods? 400 auto.

Just wondering if anyone would respond about the clutch kit for the 400 auto. IS it worth the money and does it make a real difference?
what is the best kit? EPI, highlifter, dalton...etc. Does the 400 have and performance mods that work or is it best to leave the bike stock and run with 25" tires? I was thinking 27x8x12 tires for the front and rear. I don't want to go wide but I want more ground clearance. would you recommend the clutch kit, k&n, rejetting+pipe?? What brand? Thanks for your response, I know that I will only get so much power from a 400 but every little bit helps. I only have 75 miles on my 05 and I know it needs 300 to 400 before it opens up. Thanks!

First off bigger tires will hurt preformance, everytime, always. The air filter, rejet and an after market pipe will help (watch what you get as noise is becoming a big issue and some places are saying you can't replace the stock pipe and everywhere has noise limits). There are no ignition boxes for the 400. For more power you would have been better off getting a 500 or bigger.

If you go with anything bigger than 25's you'll need the clutch kit. I'd stay with the 25's if you do allot of trail ridding. A pipe, k&n, and rejetting will pep it up some.

Now that statement defies physics. Bigger tires=lower numerical gear ratio=high overall gear ratio=less torque multification not more=less torque= less acceleration and preformance.

I like my 06'cat 400 auto the way it was setup at factory, i mean they ( AC ) had to have set the system to the best possible set up from the factory for a reason ; i would stay with the 25' wheel's you can get a better set of tire's ; but i wouldn't go over 25' rim's ! Oh Bear have you been hunting , and if so did you bag a big one yet ? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,williebee

Well, I've been hunting. I guess they call it hunting for a reason. If it was a sure thing they would call it "getting". The weather out here has been way to warm (upper 60s to high 70s). The last 2 days of the early season it dropped into the teens over night and in the 40's during the day. Of course, no that we are closed until the 16th the weather is cooperating. These Backtail deer and the brush country we hunt in is hard enough, without warm weather, clear nights with lots of moon making them stay bedded down all day. Haven't seen a scrape or a rub yet, either. So the rut is also delayed.
