IMO they're one of the better i have a 2004 250 2x4 and I mean it when i say not ONE single problem with it, and it handles great through mud, but if you do plan on going through some real thick stuff get a winch.

I have an '06 250. It is a great little machine. What is so good about it is the standard features that it includes (Digital speedo, coolant temp gauge, fuell gauge etc.) It is liquid cooled and actually made by Kymco for AC. On the negative side there is no engine brake and it is only a 2X4. On the positive side it is impressive to ride, nimble, and handles like a dream. I did have a small problem with the auto transmission. It seemed to want to switch from high to low range at about 10mph. A trip to the dealer (with a sharp mechanic I might add) fixed the problem. Apparently they dealt with AC quite a bit on the problem and replaced a spring in the tranny with a stronger one. I bought mine in Sept. of '05 and have over 800 miles on it with no regrets. Also I might add that while we don't get stupid while riding, we have never baby'd the 250 and have had it through water, mud, hills, trails and whatever else with no complaints.

The 2006 250 is a completely different machine than the 2005 and older 250s. The 2006 is made by Kymco and the older machines are made by Arctic Cat with a Suzuki motor and had 4 wheel independent suspension. The 2006 has a solid rear axle and chain drive for the DVX 250 version and shaft drive with a solid rear axle for the ute version. I have a 2001 250 and no nothing about the new ones except the new ones are not in the same class of off road vehicle as the older ones.
