Default high rev cdi ????

I am looking to buy this big gun high rev cdi off this guy. Hey has a 02 DS650. I was woundering if it would harm the cdi or my wheeler if I but it on a 05 DS650X. And if anyone would like to tell me a little about this cdi (how it is, how u like it?) that would be great thanks.

I am not 100% sure if an 02 CDI will fit your DS. I know an 02 Baja CDI will, but not sure about the non-Baja 02s. So at least buy it with the condition that if it doesn't fit you'll get your money back.

The Big Gun is pretty much the same CDI (or very similar) to the Procomm CDI. So to buy that used I certainly wouldn't pay more than the $100 a Procomm CDI sells for new.

One of the better CDIs on the market is the Vortex, however they are not cheap.

Thumper,

Have you seen the MSD unit? The two aspects that make it not a good choice for most people are:

1. Its size - this thing is huge compared to other CDIs.
2. Complexity - you have to set this bad boy up to get it to work well, while other CDIs are plug it in and done.

The MSD is a good unit, but not good for most people. The Vortex is perfect to start with and allows a lot of modifications in the future.

The Procomm is great if you are on a budget - if they fixed some of their old issues for the price you can't beat it.

Yea what he said. Although mine is a Big Gun made by Procomm, however it is made to Big Guns specifications which are not those of the standard Procomm unit.

The MSD is probably the most difficult to install and program as well as being huge!
