just installed new main jet---help

Default just installed new main jet---help

started the bike up and it just runs like a raped ape with no throttle applied like i have throttle on what would be the prob?....is the norma do i just need to idle it back or something??help help help

It's your slide. I did the same thing. You've got it in 180 degrees backwards. I about craped my pants when I first started it up, I'm sure you did too![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]

Some have a notch for the throttle cable. If you don't get it in right, it'll stick open.

You could also have the cable pulled out of the housing. This pulls the slode all the way open . Check this before you take the carb apart. Try working the throtle and listen for the slide with the engine not running.

thanks guys ill gave all that a try from the easiest to the hardest.....the forum rocks tons of help.....and yes i did crap my pants....one cause it was running like that and two cause i may have to take it off again[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

Default just installed new main jet---help

see if you have any slack in the throttle lever..... if not, you could have possibly turned the cable some. you just need to loosen it up at the housing on the handlebars where the cable enters. if there is slack in the throttle lever, you will have to take it apart again i guess.

found it guys it the last half of the throttle cable didnt seat into the grve got it together and it runs awesome now.......next.....im thought that the elctrode would have color all im getting is a blacker color around the rim not on the electrode...its clean as a whistle....this good or bad??
