well i just got 2 new quads... the 400 sportsman and the 200 phoenix, and a 2 place trailer...
i planned on just getting one quad.... but i guess the go big or go home saying applies...

being an avid net surfer i searched for sources of info on my new units and found you all-

just dipping my toes in the water- and it looks like there is lot's of good info here as well as friendly folks-

i will probably be asking lot's of rookie questions so be warned...

thanks ahead of time-

jjd

this seems like the place to be...

picked the quads up over the weekend... have only had a chance to ride in the back yard....and being in az- it is to hot to do much else...

if i was single there is a good chance i would have gone predator.... but the wife likes the auto's-

i am thinking i would like to add the ebs.... to the 400- but not until i run it a bit-

and the 200 is a fun little ride- but it has started to die at idle? and idles real rough... from what i have read that is not uncommon...

i have a feeling that i just need to give it a good running out--- the putting around the backyard might be loading it up a bit...

thanks forthe kind words- i'll mark this and visit often- oh yeah.. any one ride their 400 sporty in the dunes? our friends go to glamis a ton and we might go

with once- need paddles?

you will need pattle tires for the sand and adjust the pilot jet for your idle it should be 1 1/2 turns out but check your manual

steve, the 400 sportsman is a 4stroke now.

jjd, congratulations! I was in the same boat you are in. Went to the dealer to get a small wheeler to see if I liked the sport and came out with three. And just 2 years later we have also purchased another ATV, 3 snowmobiles, a 2place trailer, and a jetski .

And don't worry about the newbie questions, I was looking at some of the first threads I posted in and I laugh at myself now.

I will also say this is a great place if your into quads. The guys here have been a big help to me and I try to help when I can. Congrats on your new purchase. I think you will really like the 400 Sportsman. I have not had a chance to ride a 05 yet, but everyone says the 05's ride great. Good to see a new face.
