I bought a Blaster about 12 years ago..... It was the first quad I had ever owned.... I had been riding dirt bikes for 20 years befor that... I found out the Blaster is a very tuff quad, as I wreked and crashed often.....

We had a Blaster years ago. I loved the performance, but was never impressed by the quality.........every weld on the swingarm cracked! The EX on the other hand is less thrilling, but the quality and durability are excellent.
I would say that if you are a kid who will be buying this bike and riding it for just a couple of years (until you advance to someting larger), then get the Blaster. If you are buying a machine for a long term ride, get the EX.

it also depends upon if u prefer a 2 or 4 stroke quad. i dont like riding blasters not because they are bad quads but because i prefer four strokes. a blaster however is a very good quad and can be modded easily. the 250ex is a quad that is slower but will probly last longer, as reconranger said.

Get an 06 z400!!!!! LOL
I had a blaster when I was younger and I liked it. It's a lot more sportier than the ex. Try them both out and see whaich one you like better. I think the blaster will give you more room to grow. It will respond better to mods once your ready for more power, and I think the chassis will be able to handle better with the added power. Not refering to reliability, I'm refering to ridability. It will handle the greater speeds and power better without having to use so much body english. Don't think you'll have any reliability issues though either, I never did.
