Default Clutch Rack Actuation thingy

Yea you heard me right.....The Clutch Rack Actuation thingy has a broke tooth.
For those of you who have rebuilt your clutch you know what I'm talking about.
Well the good thing is I found the broken tooth, the bad thing is the local dealers said they were back ordered and not to expect to see one for 3-4 months!!!!

Part number 420259203 for a 2004.

Anybody have any suggestions where I can find one? 3 or 4 months is absurd!

Thanks

Looks like it is a 21 21 7 685 374 from BMW?

Call TVI they should be able to get them sooner.

If everyone is out. . . let us know. . . something is up if that's the case

Let me know, I may have one but, I would need a repacement so, it would just be to get you by in a pinch.

is there a way of telling that the rack is broken without taking the clutch apart? where did the broken tooth go??

I need one Devin!! Can you get another and ship it to me?

I believe that some of the guys on this site were complaining that their clutch stopped working and the suspected the cable or the plates. I tend to think is very well could have been the actuation rack. I didn't feel any difference in the clutch but when taking it apart to replace the disks I noticed the missing tooth. Lucky for me the tooth was lodged in the clutch shaft splines and had been there for quite some time by the looks of it. It just as easily could have made its way into the trans or cylinder cavity.

You do not have to take the clutch apart to do the inspection. Just remove the clutch cover and its right there.

This one was just a spaer, so I don't need to get another to send to you, but I think you meant send this to you and get another??

Either way, the intention was send me your addy, and I'll kick this out to ya tomorrow. Never woulda thought that with all the help I often am in need of, I have something someone else needs for a change. Sorry it took so long to get back to ya, I just got off work here not too long ago. But ya get back to me tonight if ya can and I'll get on it.

I have some retaining rings also if needed....(the C-clip if yours is over extended or whatever)

I ordered one July 12th, it arrived at my dealer on July 21st. He didn't mention any hold/delay on the parts.
