Default brake fluid anyone have some good info

my 97 warriors front brake rezzie is kinda low i am pretty sure the fluid has never been changed in this thing so i was thinking about changine it and putting in new stuff to take away the spongyish feel they have. ive heard that when the level drops it means the pads are wearing and it takes more fluid to push the pads. but what type of fluid do yalls use. i know im supposed to use DOT 4 so i bought a little bottle of prestone DOT 4 brake fluid is this Ok or does it have to be specifically for quads. and are there any tricks or tips on i should know.

its kinda funny im 15 have rebuilt engines and fixed just about anything on quads and dirt bikes but have never changed brake fluid in anything. so thanks fir any help

That brake fluid is fine. Doing brakes on a quad is just like doing ones on a car.
