Default Brake lights not working properly :(

I just picked up my Dad's 2003 AC 400 4x4 auto. from him. It has less than 500 miles on it, and when I squeeze the hand-brake the brake light isn't coming on. If I squeeze REALLY hard it will come on, but with normal braking pressure it's not coming on like it should be. Anybody know what the problem could be?

The lever has to move enough to allow the switch to activate. I do not know if the switch is adjustable (can be screwed in and out to adjust where the light comes on). If not adjustable it probably needs replacement. Then again you can always just step on the foot brake at the same time, that will turn the lite on.
