Chrome Wheels ?
#2
I have ITP steel crome and so far they have taken a pretty good beating in the mud and are holding up great. I don't have any scratch lines at all. I've been in gumbo mud up to the front fenders and mud with water even higher. So far they are taking the beating well.
What are you putting them on and what tire? The reason for this question, you may need to order offset wheels so the tires will set out further and then you won't need to get spacers.

I think your talking about aluminum rims versus steel rims? I own the 2000 polaris xpedition 425 cc 5-speed. It weight is 647lbs. Mine is heavier due to the stuff I put on it. I bought 4 itp magnum billet aluminum rims. I too worried about them holding up. Well, after a few months of rough
riding in the woods. I know longer worry about it.
They hold up. At least the magnum billet rims. I have banged into tree stumps I could not see. Drive over a high hump and the front end comes crashing down. push logs out of the way. drive over real bumpy rocky areas. The rims are as good as new. Never have lost air pressure. etc. The answer then is yes they hold up...
ps: I put 26 inch mudbugs on my rims and they don't slip too much in the mud and they grab everything real good. that was a good test to for the rims. Allot of stress. The rims held up. my outer tie-rod ends did not. rangerchet

I think I want either Mudrunners or Bi-Tri Claws.
And I was thinking of going with 26", but have read alot about fender rub, so may stay with standard size. Which makes me wonder, why Polaris would recommend the 26 ?
