Default 05 Sportsman 700 carb ?'s

Does anyone have one? I'm getting one and want to know how it will compare to my 02 sp700 in terms of performance. Also do I go with a set of vision 160 wheels with 26in. pxt's or 14 inch visions with 14in. bounty hunter radials. Atv 4wheel action magazine did a shootout between a 700 carb and a 700efi and said for most riders they would pick the carb. They also said it wheelied much easier than the efi, quote "It bolts from a standing start like a huge, roost-throwing frog. In contrast, the EFI model has a quick, controlled getaway. On the carbureted model, you get your arms stretched." Whatta ya think? any opinions?

I have an efi.....it will not go up on two wheels, but I am also 320 lbs. From what I have read, the carb is a little more aggressive off the git-go but it is not as smooth. Personally, I really don't want my quad to go up on two wheels. I would rather be able to have a smooth throttle response especially when climbing steep inclines, hills, etc. They are both good...it is just a matter of what type of ride you want.

I have the 2002 carbed version with Vision 160 alum wheels and the 26" DU Wetlands (same as the PXT's).
I like this setup but if you want a better handling SPORT type ride go with the 14" setup.
This will make for a stiffer ride due to shorter sidewalls, so it depends on what kind or ride you are leaning towards. Sport or comfort.

I think the '05 carbs are faster than the 2002 carb due to upgrades to the motor and the TEAM secondary clutch.
Also the 26" tires are stock on this model so its geared and clutched correctly.
You can't improve much on the twins clutching in '05, Polaris almost has it spot on for all around riding and use.

I would get the EFI unless you live in a warm climate with no or little elevation.

I had an 04 600 and now have the 05 700 Carb. The 05 seams to start much easier and usually starts with no choke at all. As far as cold weather starts my 600 needed the choke for about 5 minutes before I could turn it off but haven't had the new 700 in cold weather yet. I was able to put chrome wheels, a winch ($99.00 deal from Polaris), rear rack extender & front brush guard on for about the same price the E.F.I. would have cost.

my buddys 700 carbed sportsman wont pull the wheels either,,,i dont know what that magizine artical is talking about

the EFI really comes in play when changing elevations in riding,no more rejetting for drastic elevation changes,it will compensate, and the EFI is also more acurate in metering the fuel which will give it a slight advantage

Well I got her home today. I went with the 14 inch wheel set-up and the new style, body armor rack extenders and it looks pretty good. This thing is much smoother than my 02 sp700, but maybe because it is brand new. I also got the free extra six months of warranty, which is good. I'm so excited to ride it but tommorow my kid is racing the 90 and after that we're going to lake so my wife can ride her new jet-ski, so I probaly won't get to ride it until Monday. I'll get some pictures up then.

Very nice man. TBs look cool too, like that Orange one.
If you can, get some more picts of the 700 and the wheel/tire combo close ups.

These have got to be a DEAL over the ITP 14" setup!
