sportsman 700 wheel bearing
#1
both my friend and i had to replace all four of our wheel bearings. they are both 2004.5 700 his has 400 miles with 26" wheels and mine has 1200 miles with the stock rims and tire? is there a reason for this?

you could move the tire side to side with alot of play, yes i did it myself. you need to press them out then freeze the bearing and heat the hub and they drop right in...............

they never made a noise, they just have play side to side.
1. press old bearings out
2. freeze new bearings
3. heat the rear hub or the front strut
4. drop new bearing in.
or you can press the new bearing in............. take your pick

My 04 has been like that from day 1.......I questioned it to myself, cause its not the norm. 1800 miles later, they are the same (bearings) as when they were new....Now a-arm bushings, thats a nother deal.....

My 2002 700 rear bearings have a lot of play but until i hear some funny noises or they get real sloppy i'm not going to worry about it.
You can get NAPA bearings for a lot cheaper than the dealer.
