Default sportsman 800 vs. 05' scrambler 500

Just curious about a drag race, most likely on loose pack dirt or gravel. Scrambler rider is 200 pounds, sp 800 rider is 270. The scrambler has an HSP silencer and nothing else. The sp800 is Stock...

Let me know what you think.

Joe

I am surprised by the comedy of my post... I rode the 800 before I bought the scrammy and I am still not convinced it is going to be a complete kill by the 800. I do expect it to be faster but with the added weight of the bike plus the extra pounds of the other rider I think it will be closer than you all are acting... According to the dyno numbers (which are subjective) there is less than 8hp difference... Anyway, have any of you actually drag raced an 800 against a new Scrambler???

Thanks,
Joe

nope but i have seen a 800 race a 400ex and he hung w/the 4 hundo the whole time (they did like 6 drags) and 400ex's are a bit faster then scramblers

Spyder, have you raced a new 500 scrambler? I am not doubting the power of the 800 just trying to get a true first hand experience for how it compares to the 500 in a real world race.

ive raced a 04 scrambler, though he had a HSP speedset or whatever they call it, the new header and muffler ect, i still beat him, but stock for stock the 800 still would have won and been further ahead

sounds right...and theres no different b/t the scramblers so i'd say it'd be the same w/the 06

the only thing the scrambler had on me was in the corners, he was able to keep a higher speed than me through the corners, but once i was out of the roll i pulled past him
