I was wondering if anyone knew what is the biggest size ITP 589's I can run on a stock machine without rubbing. My brither has a 2000' kodiak 400 and the ITP 589's in 26" rub alot. I also want to run type 5 ITP rims, thanks for the input...

you can put 26's on it maybe not 27's then you would prob need a lift kit

 

The 2000 Kodiak 400 is a much different machine than an 05 Kodiak 450.

One way to test what tire size would fit your machine would be to try and get the suspension to flex all the way and see where the tires come close. (you may need to remove the sway bars to do this)

Just a note: if the tires rub a little plastic, after a couple time riding the tires will have removed just the right amount of plastic so as to not rub anymore...and it doesn't look that bad actually...

Also you might want to consider the type 6 rims instead of the type 5...check out the thread ITP type 5 or 6...

i just got 26"itp 589's c ceries rims and there is no rubbing i dont have a lift or nothing on it and my 05 kodiak 450 with ic for my brother im positive they will fit

same here, type 5 itp 26x12x12 rear 26x12x10 front mudlights no lift works fine see pics

 

27inch tires will work thats what i have on my 05 with no lift on it

I am running 27” 589’s on my 450 with the stock rims. Haven’t had any troubles even berfor i put the lift on.
