Default Kodiak 450 No parking brake

I have read most all the threads about Kodiak, and have yet to see anyone complain about the lack of the little spring loaded parking brake on the handlebar rear brake lever. You know, the one that every bike I have ever seen has, except my new 450. I know, there is the transmission park, but I like the positive feel of the parking brake. Anybody feel the same, or did perhaps I get a bum bike with the wrong lever?

You got one just like everyone's. I dont like hauling it in the back of my truck with it resting on the "parking" on the transmission. As you know there is some free play in there and it can rock back and fourth. That cant be good on the Trans. SO what I do is after putting it in park I squezze th efront brake lever in and take a snap tie and snich it down. When I get to where I'm going I just cut it loose. Works great! Still cant understand why they dont have one.

Yeah thanks for the tip on the zip tie Camo. I was so frustrated about it not having a parking brake I was going to design some kind of adapter to use on the handle bar brake but I'm not good with that stuff.

Would this work... Take a metal spacer and place it in between the lever and the perch? Just like the non parking tranny machines do. It should not be hard to make...

What I did so solve this, I ordered the lever lock of a Big Bear part no. 1YW-83965-00-00 that cost me around 12 bucks plus S&H, and installed in the rear brake lever, works great.
