Default Please Help! Keep breaking intake manifold 50cc

Please help! I'm on my 3rd intake manifold on the kazuma 50. I admit I broke the 1st one because I jumped on there and rode it around....but the other two I had nothing to do with. My son only weighs 45 lbs. this last one broke within 5 minutes of use on smooth terrain. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm making sure not to overtighten, gaskets are in place. I can't keep buying them. Any ideas? I see all the great testimonies on these but I'm not so sure. I bought it in march of this year for my son's birthday and so far he's only rode it maybe 5 or 6 times because it's been sitting broke. I've had to replace (on the advise of the dealership) the stator, ignition coil, 3 intakes now, the carb. I've spent more on it than I paid for it. Very disappointing. I'm not getting anywhere with these guys and need help from someone else. It's the last time I buy something on ebay that I can't easily drive to. I'm in Alabama and refuse to pay shipping back to Cali to have it repaired.

Someone advised me to just cut the intake in half and mount a small rubber boot in the middle and put a bracket to hold the carb in place. I hate to do this, but I think it's the only way to get it running again. I tried having a machine shop make me one out of steel intead of this cheap pueter crap.

Maybe i just got the only 3 bad intakes out of the thousands out there. Any advise is appreaciated.

Get ahold of qwadfather at Lucky 7 racing and see if his will work. We had the same problem with a Koso intake and since I switched to his have had no problems.

I bought two Kazuma's ... for my twin boys (6 yrs old) - we've had them now for 5 weeks. They love 'em ... we've gone through mud, lots of 4-foot high weeds/grass, crossed a creek ... they've held up well. Problem is - one of them keeps breaking the intake manifold. I replaced it first two weeks after purchase ... and then yesterday the replaced one cracked. Both boys ride about the same - we don't let them get out of 2nd gear ... so the bike that keeps breaking must have a little more flex or something in it thats letting the carb bounce on the intake. Regardless - I figure you get what you pay for - it only took me an hour or so to replace the intake. Raceway was great about sending out the replacement intake the first time (and I expect they will do the same when I call them tomorrow), but I wanted to see if any of you had figured out an alternative. Can the intake be modified to be more robust, or is there a third-party intake that can be used instead?

Thanks,
-Chris
