Default 330 Outlander ???

I have a 2004 330 Outlander, has any one had the speedo read " FAIL" the milage clicks off and FAIL appears. The button seamed to be stuck but I freed it up, FAIL still appears. I disconected the battery, then went for a ride, though it was ok, but FAIL came back, I think the fan isn't comming on, it got real hot, no fan, jumped the switch and the fan came on. Ran the fan a few minuits FAIL went away, road the quad for a while seemed ok.
Any one got that problem, what do you think is wrong.

Come on Guy's, some one must know what will cause the speedo to have the display to read " FAIL"
The radiator fan came on last night, so that's not the problem.

MY buddies 400 outy is having the same probs. He was told be somone on a forum i think that the "fail" means the voltage regulator is going bad. That is a commen problem for the outlander from what i hear.

yes, tha is what he said, they move it to the back. Is the recall your are talking about, do they just move it after it had failed or if you take it in they will move it back due to the recall.

Default 330 Outlander ???

I think they all will fail at some point in time, We have 2 Outlanders, my dealer is sending me 2 kits, I plan to install them myself, I am the type of Guy that thinks, if you want it done right, do it yourself. I was a Ski Doo dealer in the late 80 & 90's.
My dealer didn't know the problem, I had to pull some strings with a old dealer friend of mine to find out.

My dealer friend said it has, real easy instructions, not hard. All the recall kits that cam from Doo was a step 1-2-3 deal, not a big deal.

Ok, what does it look like and where would it be located exactly if it hasn't been relocated?

The bad spot is , as you set on the Quad, its behind the pannel next to your right knee, new spot is on the bracket that holds the battery, Mine is in the new spot on the battery. Mine is going bad, so it looks like they still have a voltage regular problem.
If I run with the head lights on there isn't a problem now, but I don't know how long that will work.
