Running the DS with Carbs up front and Exhaust striat out the back?

Why not? To me it would only take a custom cam shaft to make this possible. ( or actually just reversing the stock cams valve timing) ANd Since the ignition on the DS fires on every TDC stroke, all it would take is some handy machine work to make the New intake and exhaust.
The benefits would be a exhaust design that would have NO bends, but instead shooting straight back. This should be good for some extra power(especially for the Drag racers).

As far as the carb,EFI, or dual carbs up front go, all you would have to do is relocate the radiator up front( like the BombBusa) to make enough room. The benefits of this would be your Air filters getting direct air by being infront of the head.

Canondales were built like this and look where it got them!
Seriously though, I think the exhaust comes out with such force and needs allitle back pressure that one bend doesn't do too much. I've considered an air scoop through insulated ducting but I don't think we see speeds enough to make much difference there either.
How's the bike coming? You went with a 929 right?

Not thinking it would give major HP gains, but I do think it could be worth a couple ponies, not to mention it would be different.

I am experiencing electrical problems on my 954 project. gonna have to locate a Speddo, so I can trouble shoot using the error codes on the display.
