Eiger Vs. Kodiak 450...which is best?

Tough call there. Overall I'd have to say that the Kodiak will give you more than the Eiger - enough to justify the slightly higher cost of the Yamaha. Maybe you should look at things like IRS vs SRA to make your decision.

I bought my wife an Eiger this spring and she really likes it. Our decision came down to the Kodiak or the Eiger and we went with the Eiger because of price and the Kodiak's grease fittings were in a tough place to get at (I do my own servicing) and the Eiger has zero grease fittings. However, after only 600 miles, we have a "clanging" noise whenever the brakes are applied hard, which we can not find, so it is back to the dealer! So maybe I should have paid the extra money for the Kodiak and changed the grease fittings! The Kodiak definately will ride better!

both are good for heavy trail riding but if u wanna start getting into deep stuff and heavy heavy like mud and water, Kodiak 450 is a better quad, and it will smoke the eiger ina race heh

I looked at the Kodiak 450 before I bought too. For around $1K more, you get IRS, locking front diff, and a little more displacement. You also get more engine vibration and not near as smooth transmission compared to the Eiger.
The Kodiak 400 is more compareable to the Eiger for price (although still more expensive). Since I wanted two, I went with the Eigers. Probably if I wanted just one for my wife and I to double on, the Kodiac 450 or Vinson 500 would be it.
BTW, if you're talking about the rattle when braking hard with the rear brake, i traced its cause to the back tires locking up and the slack in the drivetrain clunking because of it. Tell her to use the front brake more

I bought my wife a Kodiak 450 and she loves it. I like it too. It's got all of the options that my kingQ has and it also has a good ride with the IRS.

You took the words out of my mounth Hemi4u2nv. Its the slop in the transmission making that noise when rear brakes are applied hard. Use the fron brakes more.

For the best bang for a buck the Eiger is a great machine. Compareing these two quads is not really fare on the Eiger. The 450 beats it at everything but price. If it was between the Eiger, Prarie 360, 330 magnum, honda rancher, or the 400 kodiak. Take the Eiger.
