Hi all, I am new here and need some help getting my atv running. I was just wondering if there are common problems that these bikes have? I have changed the plug, drained the tank and cleaned the carb.
The problem is that when I give it gas it wants to stall out. It will idle in gear but the slightest press of the throttle will stall it.
What should I look for first.

Did the choke cable snap? Sounds like you have the choke on or it is stuck.

 

here are a few pointers-

make sure the gas tank vent on the gas cap is open and not clogged with mud and stuff

make sure all the vacuum and vent lines going to the carb are open and not clogged

take carb apart and make sure the jets are not clogged with a piece of dirt

make sure the choke is all the way off.

remove the metal plug from the bottom of the rear of the muffler, and make sure all the debris is out

check the air filter and clean it if necessary.
