Best Front tire for sand
#2
I have always had good luck with the Kenda Max A/T. It has tall, rectangular lugs that really bite good in the sand and dirt. That's what's going on my 200X play bike when I get back to the States.

I just looked in the Dennis Kirk book and is say 25x8x12 for the 1985 TRI-Z and 23x8x12 for the 1986 TRI-Z.
Heres a link to a 25x8x12 tire that looks like it could be used on a TRI-Z and look like it belongs on it.
Maxxis C9207 Pro XGT Tire
Reinforced deep ***** with angled lateral ***** for precise straight-line steering and awesome cornering under any conditions
Puncture-resistant compound
Tubeless design
Hope this helps you out...never seen a tire that size on a 3-wheeler before(I've never seen many TRI-Zs though)

I stand corrected. According to Yamaha's own information, the Tri-Z did have a 12" front wheel. I try to learn something new everyday, and that fills today's quota.
Edit: I was looking around, and I ran across a radial Holeshot in a 25x8x12 size. You might be able to find it cheaper elsewhere.

I have been riding the dunes for years. On my 250R I ran the stock tire on front for a long time. But it will throw some sand up on ya. If you are only riding sand, stick to a smotthie with a center ridge. They don't throw any sand and have great control. check out the Link
