Default K&N Filter on my new 05 Sportsman

Coulple of questions from a newbie of this site:

Just bought a K&N today for my new 2005 sportsman HO.Do I have to rejet my carb?

How should it be installed? Leavethe air box lid off, leave the lid on, or take the air box out completly? Please advise.

Thanks,

I will try this on my wife's 04 Sportsman 500 or in her case Sportswoman. I don't need it on my 800 EFI. I had it on my 03 Rincon and I found that the starting was easier. Not sure if it was because it helped or that Hondas tend to run lean. Anyways, I found even more performance when I took out the flame arrestor in the exhaust muffler and inserted a wider pipe http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HONDA...QQcmdZViewItem and jetted the thing one step richer.
