Default Shady Promoter...What to do?

So here's the short version...

A local promoter (who's ethics have previously been in question) set up a quad only series...unfortunately this series was not ATVA sanctioned.
The promoter clearly and publicly stated at the beginning of the series, that it was not a high point series.
Then after the last race of the series, he decided to change the rules and make it a high point series, which changed several points standings to the benefit of his son who raced the series. Needless to say, there are a lot of people who are very unhappy with him.
I'm wondering if there is anything that can be done in a situation like this? I have a few ideas of my own, but I would really like to hear any comments/suggestions if you have them.
~Thanks in advance!

Well if you think that being ATVA santioned would help in this situation, you are 110% wrong.
Other sites that are more race oriented could show you thread after thread on how the promotors in the GNC circiuit suck! The ATVA/AMA is a santioning organization. They have no say in what promotors do or don't do. All they can do is recommend, and we all know where that gets us.
Promotors are GODs (ask them).
It's in the rule book these 2 powerfull words ""promotors discretion"" is what we hear/read/ and suffer with.
We're just lucky they don't have their own kids racing. It'd be the same story, I'd bet on it.
I indeed feel for you.

You obvisouly have alot more experience with the ATVA/AMA santioning body as a whole.

However to say I'm 110% wrong is misplaced.

There are steps he could have taken through the AMA/ATVA to correct or atleast "protest" the end result.

We all have AMA congress men in our Division..and yes they do listen.

IMHO promotors do act like they are GOD like. A nessasary evil cause its his motorcycle club that flags/scores the race and you know as well as I do that I would rather be racing then flaging.

My problems with the promotors is that we (quads) play second fiddle to the dirtbikes in our CC circuit.

And we will probably continue that until quads out number the bikes.

If I had to gues I would say that atleast 2X the amount of dritbikes enter any given race compared to quads.

Heatseeker8:: I indeed could be wrong at 110%. Maybe closer to 99%. LOL j/k
We did have a GNC racer-dad get to be a congressman. He indeed listened. He indeed tried to voice. He let us know that the congressmen really have little voice in anything.
Your right, some promotors think quads are only good for running the mud off the track before the bikes.
Your also right in thinking this will go on for a long while. It seems our local circiut has 30 or so bike classes and 6 or so quad classes.
Sorry to be negative. Some promotors really pi$$ me off.
