Default Speedrack vs MRP

I see the new AC rack system is called the Speedrack. Is it just a new name for the MRP or is it different? I was wondering if accessories are compatable between the two systems.

That's a good ?. I think the speed rack is a simpler and cheaper set up fo Cat. I don't know
if all the accessories interchange, check w/ the dealer.

On the MRP racks, you had to pull two pins then pull the end's of the rack off before you attatched the accessory. The Speedrack is a much better set-up because the racks are all one piece with the small square attachment holders welded to the bottom of the rack. The Speedrack uses bigger tubing as well so the racks are more heavy duty. There are a few accessories that have changed but most are the same. I had the back rest cushion for my 04 650 but the 05's are not equipped to hold the back rest.

Default Speedrack vs MRP

Took the Cat into the dealer today for a rejet for the mountains. I asked about the Speedrack/MRP rack and he said the accessories are compatible. The change was to eliminate taking side and front or rear parts of the rack off to add accessories like the MRP required. The only accessory he didn't know about was the dump box that is for the TRV. He wasn't sure it would fit other units with MRP/Speedrack.
