Default Ripped grease boot on my 400

I ripped a front outer boot on my 2003 Arctic Cat 400i. How difficult is it to replace this item? I see I must detach the spindle from the upper and lower ball joints, detach steering arm and brake line. Does the axle just pull out of the differential? Also, does the outer joint dissassmble easily to remove and replace the boot? Are special tools required?

Hurricane Katrina destroyed alot of timber in this area. Getting into some thick stuff will be a regular thing here in MS for years to come I need a more durable grease boot... Is there a tougher-than-OEM/stock boot available?

I'm pretty sure that there is a tougher boot. I remember some conversation about it a few years ago. Give searching in the archives a try and see what you can dig up!

The CV joint comes apart to let you replace the boots. There is a snap ring that holds it together.

Try this link http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/fangoe...=/0437&.view=t step by step pics.

We have the same issues when riding in a new logging show.
