Default Detroit Gearless Locker- A Good Option?

Over the past year I considered getting a new ATV however I can't seem to find just what I want and with the cost today I don't want to make a mistake. So I have been really happy with my 2001 Rubicon but there are some features I wish it had. So instead of buying new I'm going to upgrade a little bit I've recently purchased a Warn 424 that I have yet to install. I'm considering adding the Gearless Locker but it is like anything else on the internet if you search for it you get both good and bad reviews. For those of you that have it would you add it again? Did it add some characteristic you didn't like? Does it affect steering in 2wd? My main type of riding is relatively low speed I normally go to Moab each year or to the Rocky Mountains, creek beds and very rocky trails. Any information would be appreciated, thank you.

I have 2003 Rubicon and i have added the detroit gearless locker and the warn 424 unlocker and love them both it will steer harder when locked in but you can ease over verry rough and uneaven terrain so much better and it has no effect on steering when in 2wd and yes i would do it again.

The Warn 424 is a great peice of equipment. From what I've heard the Detroit locker is an excellent solution because it doesnt affect steering in 2wd.

I cheaped out and got the highlifter spool front locker which permantly locks both front wheels. It makes slow speed steering more involved in both 2wd and 4wd, but you cant notice it at speed. The traction benefits are well worth it.

The detroit locker should also be a good reliable peice of equipment, they have years and years of experience in the market from cars, off road trucks, desert racing, nascar and pretty much everything else!!!
