It depends on where you are riding or what you want.

If you ride trails or woods, get the Maxxis Razr 2's front and rear.........I had them on mine, and they are truly awesome! Unreal in the mud, on the hardpack, in the loam, just everywhere! They take some getting used to because of the amout of traction that they get, but you will love them!

You should get IRAZRs. They are the best except for sand and mud. You don't want any old timey bias ply RAZR 2s. Radials are clearly the way to go.

Regular Razr's in 6 ply. Best all around trail tire. I razrs don't slide as good and wear out faster but are better for the mud. Razr 2's don't slide at all hardly and are good for when it is really muddy but are a really heavy tire. Holeshots are also good but I run maxxis tires.

Warmdye, out here in the east, mud is the common enemy, not much sand unless you riding through a playground sandbox.........LOL!
Coryatver, you make a good point on the regular Razrs as I think they are excellent when conditions are dry. I like the Razr 2's all of the time for the fact that they allow me the freedom to take a line to get around say a bottleneck in a race by taking a less than desirable line where traction is a concern. I also had very little trouble with getting the rears to slide, wet or dry.

None of you guys consider radial vs. bias ply. I don't understand this. A radial tire weighs less, has better handling performance, and is more durable. All the new Honda Sport Quads come OEM with radials. If you put bias ply on there your downgrading the performance. I've had my irazors for quite some time have put about 40 hrs on them and they are holding up fine. They are lasting longer than the stockers.
