Default twist v. thumb throttle

I have been riding motorcycles and atv's for about an equal amount of time and can now officially say that I am not a fan of twist throttles. I just bought an 89 Zilla w/ a twist throttle and I hate it. I am getting a thumb throttle ASAP. It is just a personal preference for me I guess but I seem to be able to get better riding out of a thumb throttle, I can go faster and handle better. Also I can't do wheelies very well with a twist because if you have to grip the bars you tend to gun the throtte. anyway just putting the topic out there.

Personally never liked twist throttles on ATV's but it is a matter a preference and probally depends on the type of riding you do.

I seen somebody try to switch to a twist throttle on a warrior. That went to a motocross track shortly after, hit a double and nearly done a back flip on the thing. Luckily it didnt go all the way over, and land him. Something ive always wondered is why some dirt bikes dont have thumb throttles. Ive always thought they would allow for more control.

Depends on your riding style, in my opinoin. For drag racing and duning......I could see where a twist might be nice.......but for mx and xc.......a thumb is much easier to control

My 700R is the only quad that I have owned thatam keeping the thumb throttle on. I do not like most others. I have trips of ove 100 miles in a day and a thumb throttle gets old by the end of the day.

My seasoned right thumb would't have it any other way.
I've ridden a few Banshees with a twist...very awkward (for me anyhow)
