Carb or Engine problems?
#1
I am hoping the collective here can give some advice on what I may check before visiting the shop.
The blaster will start and idle fine and for the first few minutes (about as long as it takes to warm) it runs fine. Then it begins to sputter and eventually dies. It will start back up and idle fine but when I try to take off it stalls.
I have checked all filters, main jet, pilot jet, replaced stock reeds with aftermarket, dumped gas, changed plug, and examined floats for debris.
I don't know where else to look for the problem. The engine is definatly knocking, could this be a pistion seizure problem?
Thanks.

If it stalls when you give it gas then it sounds as if it is too lean. I'd agree with richening up the needle and try that. If the knocking sounds increases as you give it gas the you could have some major problems with the piston. Check your compression and see if it is what it is supposed to be.
