Whats the BEST PLOW on the market?
#1
Hi, I live in northern Wisconsin and was thinking of buying a plow. I have a 2004 Rubicon with stock tires. I was thinking of buying a plow and a winch. I just want to know.... What you guys heard about plows?
Whats the max. height when lifted or any problems?
Is a standard plow okay or should I get the country type plow and pay the extra bucks?
What size is the best?.................. I was thinking of a 54" or 60". I was told when the plow is turned for plowing you don't want your tires in the snow.
One more thing should I get after market Tires? .......Somebody said their tires went almost flat when they lifted the blade up.
I was leaning towards an Eagle or Cycle Country plows but that not set in stone.
This is Best Place to Find Information! Thanks all, Eric

I have a 60" Cycle Country plow and have no problems with it. I also like the fact that you can buy replacement wear bars (in either metal or plastic). I'm running with stock tires and have no traction problems or weight problems with them going flat with the plow on. We had a couple 15 - 20 in deep snows last year and it had no problems pushing.

Hi I have a 60" cycle country plow and I use my winch to lift it up and down or you can use a handle sold sepritly from cycle country I think it is $75-$100 for that I just put the money tords the winch. When I used to have stock tires on my rubicon and if I had traction problems I would put a sand bag on my front or back rack most of the time it was on the back rack. If you live in town a 48" cycle country works great on the side walks I used to have one befor I moved to the country and I got a 60" long drive way some times it take a two to three hours to clean the drive way. If you are using it a lot I would not get a moose plow I have two friends of mine that had there tubes buckle under the atv from just pushing heavy wet snow. good luck on your choice.

I have had two plows, the 60" cycle country and Now the Moose 60". Unless the cycle country plows are made different then they were 4 years ago I did not like it. The Cycle country used round push tubes and the ears and tubes bent in two winters. Granted we have alot of snow in Maine but they shoulcnt bend all up like they did. The Moose is square tubing and is a MUCH heavier unit. You wont break it.

and never bent the tubes on ether one my friends had both there spuare tubes bent right befor the atvs mounting plate buckled right to the ground. One of them has a drive way about 20' X20' and about a 100' of side walk and he bent them half way through winter the first year the only reason he got a plow it came free with the purches of a new atv the dealer had a deal between a winch or a plow and he already had the winch. But may be it all depends on how you use it.

We've got a 60" moose on the prairie but its a PITA because the winch line will break every few uses. Still havent figured out how to fix the problem but I'm really happy with the plow and mount itself.
Got a smaller cycle country on my aunt's rancher, manual lift. Great unit too.
