Default Aluminum air box with battery relocated

I want one with the battery relocated inside or in back somehow. I have looked all over the web and PPD looks gone now and On Dunes is gone too!!! I did find an aluminum air box only made by UM.

Anyone have a link or suggestion?

I know that Johnnyairtime has some nice pictures of the one I want and I am already using those pics as a guide.

So, if anyone has a PPD box or one like it and has a digital camera and a tape measure....................PLEASE HELP!

I am sure I will have to make a few before I get it right.

If you cant buy it, you got to make it....right???

I see Bill sent you the link to the 400EX... but that's a start to find them, the makers.
I too had issues with finding them under PPD Racing, however... look them up under Pingry (that was the name I was looking for).

They're not that hard to build really. It's all flat alum sheet, with mild bends that could be done without a brake. It's the angle of the dangle you need I guess... and if ya had one to start off with... man, peice O cake! But ya don't. Sucks.

If you would have had this post two months ago... I would have made ya one off of mine using it as a jig. I hope ya find'em and they still make it... if not, use the PM I sent ya and email me.

They work awesome, look awesome... as long as you use rubber moulding to pad the battery!

Good luck.

Response email from Crowley:

I can’t seem to get a response from PPD lately. Don’t know if they are still around.

Sorry.

Johnny, did you get my email?

Shoot me a PM with your e-mail. I'll shoot a picture of my set-up. I may have an extra box in the garage too.

Tried that, no answer. After about 30 rings a fax picks up. I looked at the email address and its ppdracing.com and that domain has expired. I would have to say they are gone.

I am ready for a sheet of aluminum today and will be bending soon.
