Hi, i left teh cap off of the Reservoir and I went on a trail ride there was some mud and dust, not to much but still, I am unsure if a ny got in and I washed the quad so I can't tell if there was mud in or on it. I did drain and flush the Reservoir ) there may have been a few specks but on much. Does teh coolant circulate though the Reservoir or is it just there asa over flow or if teh motor goes low? should I draint eh whole system? ( I just changed it not to long ago) IF so how should I do it to make sure I get it all out if there is even any in there( I don't think anything got in but aI am unsure). Thanks

I'm no expert but I would definately drain it to be safe. It isn't that expensive. While the reservoir is for overflow, it will also suck back into the system when needed. Is your coolant level lower than normal? If so, you might add coolant until it's full, then run the bike for a few minutes so it circulates, then drain it. If it is dirty, I would repeat until it is clean. I don't think it will cause big problems but I imagine you eventually could have probs with the thermostat and water pump which could lead to BIG problems if you don't catch it soon enough.

I just pull out my drain plug for the coolant, and then let running water out of a hose run thru it for a couple minutes.
