Default Counterballancer gears on 400L

I was wondering if somebody might be able to give me some info on the Polaris 400L engine rebulid. My local mechanic is doing the job, but he ran into a problem. When he was putting the crank gear and counterbalancer gear back together, there were no "timing" marks. Would someone be able to give me a description of where the marks were. There was a little rust on the gears, so he lightly sanded them to see if he could find the marks, but to no avail. We can see the counterballancer gear mark on the inside (hub) area, but not by the teeth as shown in the manual. The crank gear has no marks whatsoever. Our local dealers are either as dumb as a box of rocks or they just don't want to help.

I am sorry I didn't get to my PM's . Realigning it after it is already apart is kind of tough unless you have a known *in time * one close by .

I always mark them before I work on them . If they have any rust I media blast them as well .
