OIL CHANGE

I'm not sure if the Sportsman's use PS4 or not, but it was what my manual said to use in my Predator and my bike doesnt skip a beat. A lot of guys also use Amsoil 0w40.
My suggestion: get what the bike's manual says to get, then down the road when you feel creative try something new

the new machines are running full synthetic....I still use Polaris 0W-40 oil, seems to work well, but I may switch to Castrol Syntec, alot cheaper than Polaris oil

Cornbread2 I am very interested in knowing how many miles do you have running the Castrol Syntec in the transmission. I agree with you on the Polaris crapoil. I run the Amsoil 0w40 synthetic in the motor with 5000miles of trouble free running.....

Any good synthetic oil is better than the Polaris stuff. I can't say it is better than Amsoil because I have never used it. I have used the Castrol Syntec is all of my Polaris ATV"s since the early 90's and all of the Polaris ATV's I service for my customers and friends.
I have never had to tear apart a Polaris engine that was using the Syntec.
I had to repair one trans that had the Syntec ran in it because the guys cheap non O ring chain broke and knocked a hole in the case.
The ATV was a 94 model and it had several thousand miles on it.
The reverse chain and every part of the trans was still like the day it left the factory. The parts were so slick I had to wear cotton gloves to be able to hold on to them.
Once again I am not claiming the Castrol Syntec is better than Amsoil or any other good name brand synthetic oil. I just know it is better than the Polaris stuff and I KNOW it works fine so that makes me a loyal user of it.
