Default IMS installation help ...

Hi guys,
Well after reading all the Pros and Cons about the IMS pegs and heel guards I caved in and bought a set.
But as I expected they don't fit so well.... or more directly I think I have to do a little bending of the heel guards to get them go bolt on ?
Any one got these on there DS and any wise words as to the best way to proceed ?

Sure do look good though

use spacers

I had IMS heel guards but they put too much stress on the fender mounting tabs and they broke off

Hi BillDS650,

Use spacers?

Where ? between the foot peg and the heel guard, or at the top of the heel guard and rear fender? to prevent breakage ?

They provided me with spacers but I figured they were for the stock foot pegs? as I also bought the IMS foot pegs.

It just looks like theses things need to be bent up a little more at the last bend up to the foot peg ?

Yet another case where you buy premium parts only to have to shoe horn them in !

At the top of the heel guard and fenders. IMS is working on a new style of heel guard but the DS is down on the list the 450 are first.

BillDS650,
Got ya thanks for the help....those spacers at the fenders did the trick and did not put too much stress on the fender.

Just curious did you use the stock DS BajaX Nerf bars ? if so what did you have to do to get them bolted on to the IMS PEGS ?
It looks like if I just drill the needed hole I shold be able to use at least one of the stock bolts to hold em up ?
Just curisous as to how to fabricate support for them ?

Thanks again ....

They look like the old ones but have larger tubs and the plates are more open. They are still too shallow for me.
