Picked up my bro's new '06 DS650 for him yesterday. What low end torque it has! Popped wheelies with just a crack of the throttle. My son says my hopped up Banshee will easily beat it, but I am not so sure. Acceleration from a standing start with that 4-stroke almost gives you whiplash. He does not like the DS because it is heavy and high, but what do kids know? Anyway, I will have to become a much better Banshee rider to take it out of the hole. Awsome machine!!

Well look at that, another Havasu guy. For the desert, that DS will show up your shee. The dunes, shooting the hill your banshee will probably beat it. With mods on either one will be a guess till you race it.

As far as your son not liking it, well its a different machine, unlike any other. It will feel wrong to someone who grew up on quads and 3 wheelers. Just need to retrain the brain to ride the DS.
