I noticed the same thing, it could be the addition of the new style buddy messenger thing, which is cool, but it looks like a hardware upgrade is in order to make it work well. This morning it was on the left, now it is on the right - I think I like it better on the right. This new style buddy messenger is much more readily usable than the old style.
