2004 Rancher AT GPSescape questions...
#1
Hi all,
I have a few questions for those Rancher AT owners out there, I'm considering getting rid of my '01 scrambler for a 2004 rancher at gpsescape. I plan on using the rancher for plowing snow, hunting, and riding the occasional poker run. How does the rancher AT stack up in these situations? I've heard alot of people complaining about lack of low end power which concerns me for plowing and hunting. I've also heard of issues with the AT clutches burning up. I rode the rancher in a field but didn't have a chance to ride it in the mountains to see what it does there, am I making a mistake in possibly getting the AT vs an older 350 rancher? Thanks for the help.....

I bought one and for a few months I just thought that it was slow not very powerful. Well I got the tie rod recall and asked my dealer about the sluggishness, and top speed of 35mph. They reprogrammed the ECM and replaced he tierods. It is like a new machine. It is far peppier and pulls alot better. The ECM reprogramming is key on the 2004 models. Oh it will do 55 mph now on top speed.
