2005 reverse light mod
#1
This wiring will make the work lights come on in reverse. The lights will also work with the switch like normal. Wiring is for 05 700 & 800. You will need a DPST relay. A DPDT relay will also work. To understand this you are gonna need to know the numbering system of relays. The #1 is the first set of contacts and the #2 is the second set.
Red/white from worklight switch to 85 & 30#1.
Ground to 30#2.
Violet from tranny switch to 86.
Blue from worklight switch to 87#1.
Violet going to resistor pack to 87#2.
The service manual says the reistor pack is located below the headlamp, but it is wrong. It is located under the airbox by the inner belt cover. It will be cable tied to the harness.
Would be much easier to understand if I could just draw a diagram and attach it to the post. Problem is I am not to computer savvy. So this will have to do for now.

I bought them at an electronic parts supply in town. Fry's electronics has a DPDT that will work. Have not found an automotive style yet. I have just been using the DPDT, more common and easier to find.
Do I need to build some of these and start selling them?

It's a pretty clever setup. I would suggest that terminal 30 #2 be grounded as close as possible to the speedo ground. Otherwise, you might run into a situation where the ground plane could shift enough to cause the speedo to temporary indicate the wrong gear. The likelyhood of this happening is pretty low and should occur only under heavy electrical system loading (switching headlights on, winching, hand warmers, etc.), but the possibility does exist.
Regardless... Great Idea.
