Now what's wrong with this dang thing?!?!?

ok finally figured out why the winch wouldn't start... when we had to battery check out at the dealer the moron forgot the put the connection from the winch back on the battery.. duh!!!
Now the dang thing won't start unless we jump start it, he checked that battery over and said it was fine even fill the cell back up. We bring it home and it won't start!!! And when i did jump start it and get it going i was told not to just leave it idle for the battery to be charged back up need to have it run it a higher RPM so i did. then after my quick little ride did a little plowing and the display was flashing hot, so i shut it off, and the fan kept running, 30mins later the fan is still running and yep you guess it dead battery again. what is wrong with the machine? i disconnected the battery so the fan would stop. 30mins of being on covered in snow and 20 degrees outside i think it's cooled down.
Someone help please any ideas?

do you know what i can find a copy of this recall. I recently had it check for a recall i can't quite remember what for they didn't replace anything just checked it and said he was fine. But now i'm second guessing that!!

Here's the link:
Recall Info
You'll have to check the VIN to see if your bike was included in the recall or not, but from the problem you're describing, I'll bet it was. The controller should have a green paint pen dot on the connector side if it's OK. You'll have to remove the front plastic cover and probably unscrew the controller to see if it has a dot. If you do unscrew it, make sure you put all of the ground wires back when you reconnect it.

Great thanks,
I actually just went out to the atv and put the battery connections back on the the fan turn right back on, didn't have the key in or nothing...... can you take recalls to any dealer or just the one you bought it from?

The recall is listed as a safety concern, so I would think that you can take it to any dealer, but I don't know that for a fact.
The fan running w/o the key on is one of the exact failure modes that prompted the recall, so I'd say you definitely need a new control module. Make sure you keep your battery disconnected until you get it fixed.

you can take it to any polaris dealer to get the work done. if c.c isnt fixing it try coverside or the old conrads shop.

My dealer said polaris gave the dealers a tester to check the ECM's to see if they are faulty, but they are not 100% accurate. If it says the ecm is bad, it's definetly bad. But if it says it is good, it could still be faulty. So they have to replace it anyway to see if it solves the problem.
