Default Artic Cat 400 4x4 rear cv boot

My friend has a 2005 Arctic Cat 400 4x4 manual shift with 4 wheel independent suspension, while riding this past weekend a stick got caught at the cv boot and punctured the right rear outer cv boot.
Several questions here: 1. Do I have to replace both boots to just to replace the outer? 2. Is there anywhere else to get cv boots other than the dealer? 3. How difficult is it to remove the axle, does it just pop out of the rear diff with just a pry of a large screw driver while tapping the cv joint? Will it just slide out of the axle hub bearing assy once the nut is loose? 4. What are the torque specs for reassembly of the axle ex: ball-joint, axle nut, etc.?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

If you still need boots for your artic cat I can help you if you can get me the numbers off of the cv joints. It should be a number like 68 lac and is located just bellow where the large boot band is on the outer joint. I'm not to sure how the suspension is set up on the rear of your machine but, it should be pretty easy to remove the axle. It will pop out of the diff you will have to stick a large srewdrive/prybar between the joint and the diff. Just be carful when prying against the diff. If it does not come out pretty easy turn the joint about 180 degrees and it should come out. You will want a pail of some sorts under the diff to catch any fluid that may come out. More than likely you will have to replace both boots. If I can help out plase call John @ 1-800-701-axle (2953)

Thanks, I'll pass it on and let you know if the numbers are as you stated.
